Rentokil Initial is a global company specializing in pest control services and hygiene solutions. It operates in numerous countries, with a significant presence in the North American market. The company faces competition from other industry players like Rollins, which also reports on trends within the pest control market.

On July 31, 2026, investment bank BNP Paribas downgraded Rentokil Initial to Neutral from a previous Outperform rating. The bank set a new price target of $26.70 for the stock. At the time, Rentokil Initial’s price was $24.25, which means the new target still suggests a potential price increase of 10.1%.

The downgrade follows concerns about Rentokil Initial's performance in North America. As highlighted by Proactive Investors, Rentokil Initial warned of weaker demand from residential customers and abandoned a key goal for its North American operating margin. This news contributed to a significant 17.60% drop in the stock's daily price.

Despite these challenges, Rentokil Initial reported positive first-half financial results. The company’s revenue grew by 4.5% to $3.59 billion, and its adjusted operating profit increased by 6.6% to $556 million. This profit growth helped improve the company's operating margin, which is a measure of profitability, to 15.5%.

Rentokil Initial also strengthened its financial position by reducing its net leverage, a measure of debt, to 2.4 times from 2.8 times a year ago. The company showed confidence by increasing its interim dividend for shareholders by 8% and maintaining its profit outlook for the full year.
