Fresnillo plc (OTC: FNLPF) is a major Mexican precious metals producer. The company focuses on mining silver and gold. Its recent financial results show a strong performance, which Chief Financial Officer Mario Arreguín calls the company’s strongest first-half since its public offering 18 years ago.
On August 4th, 2026, Fresnillo plc reports an earnings per share (EPS) of $1.75, which is above the analyst estimate of $1.56. This performance is described as a "clean beat across the board," as highlighted by Jefferies. The strong result comes from lower operating costs and higher metal sales volumes.
The company also posts revenue of $3.413 billion, beating the consensus estimate of $3.41 billion. This record financial performance is driven by higher prices for precious metals. These higher prices successfully make up for lower gold and silver sales volumes and increasing production costs throughout the year.
A significant highlight is the company's free cash flow of $1.257 billion, much higher than the expected $710 million. Free cash flow is the cash a company generates after paying for its operating expenses and capital expenditures. Fresnillo plc also holds a notable net cash pile of $1.7 billion.
From a financial health standpoint, Fresnillo plc maintains a low debt-to-equity ratio of 0.18, showing it relies more on owner's funds than debt. It also has a strong current ratio of 4.35. This indicates the company has more than four times the assets needed to cover its short-term debts.
