ACV Auctions Inc. (NYSE:ACVA) is a company that runs a leading online wholesale vehicle marketplace. It provides a platform for car dealers to buy and sell used cars from each other online. With a market capitalization of around $1.34 billion, the company is a key player in the automotive tech sector.

Reflecting a positive view of the company, analyst Jeff Lick of Stephens recently upgraded ACV Auctions' investment rating to Overweight. This rating suggests the stock may perform better than others in its category. A new $10.50 price target was also issued, representing a potential upside of about 35.92% from the stock's price of $7.73 at the time.

This upgrade follows a robust quarterly earnings performance in the second quarter of 2026. As reported by Zacks Investment Research, ACV Auctions announced earnings per share (EPS) of $0.06, beating the consensus estimate of $0.05. EPS is a key profitability metric that shows a company's profit relative to its number of outstanding shares.

The company also achieved record revenue of $213.94 million. Its profitability improved, with its EBITDA margin expanding by 130 basis points from the prior quarter. EBITDA is a measure of a company's overall operational efficiency, and a growing margin indicates it is becoming more efficient at turning revenue into profit.

This performance is notable as it occurred during challenging market conditions, as highlighted by Seeking Alpha. The company's ability to gain market share and increase the use of its Marketplace Services in this environment supports the analyst's confidence. ACV Auctions also anticipates that its revenue growth will accelerate in the third quarter.
