Applied Materials (NASDAQ: AMAT) is a major company that supplies equipment, services, and software for semiconductor manufacturing. Its business is closely tied to the demand for advanced electronics, especially with the recent boom in artificial intelligence (AI). As chipmakers expand production to meet AI demand, they purchase more of Applied Materials' equipment, directly boosting its sales and profits.

The company is scheduled to release its quarterly earnings report on Thursday, August 13, 2026, after the market closes. This financial report is highly anticipated as it can signal how chipmakers view the current state of AI demand. Ahead of the announcement, Applied Materials' stock has seen significant movement, rising 105% year-to-date but also falling 25% from its June highs.

Wall Street analysts are expecting an earnings per share (EPS) of around $3.39 to $3.40. EPS shows a company's profit per outstanding share of stock. This forecast represents a large increase from the $2.48 per share reported in the same quarter last year, as highlighted by Benzinga Pro.

For the same quarter, revenue estimates are approximately $8.99 billion to $9.00 billion. This would be a notable increase from the $7.30 billion reported in the prior year. The company has a strong history of beating analyst estimates, which adds to the interest surrounding the upcoming financial release.

Applied Materials currently has a trailing Price-to-Earnings (P/E) ratio of 51.28. This valuation metric suggests investors have high expectations for future earnings growth. The company also maintains a healthy balance sheet, with a low Debt-to-Equity ratio of 0.30, indicating it relies more on equity than debt to finance its assets.
