Shopify Inc. (NASDAQ: SHOP), a leading Canadian e-commerce platform provider, recently delivered a strong second-quarter 2026 earnings report that surpassed analyst estimates. This positive financial performance helped reduce investor concerns about the company’s position in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).

Following this, on August 17, 2026, Seaport Global, an investment research firm, raised its price target for Shopify to $175.00, an increase from its previous target of $160.00. At the time the new target was set, the stock’s price was $150.25. This new target represents a potential upside of 16.47% for the stock.

The firm’s optimism is supported by Shopify’s significant momentum in AI-driven commerce. As highlighted by Zacks Investment Research, AI-driven traffic and orders to Shopify stores each tripled year over year in the second quarter of 2026. This indicates that AI technology is becoming a vital tool for merchants on the platform.

This e-commerce growth is further shown by new buyer orders through AI channels, which grew at nearly twice the rate of other channels. The company’s Catalog infrastructure also improves platform performance, with catalog-powered searches converting at roughly twice the rate of searches using scraped data.

The positive earnings report triggered several long-term bullish signals, as noted by FX Empire. These included the stock reclaiming its 200-day moving average and rising above its downtrend line. This resulted in a new breakout high of $155.62, confirming bullish follow-through for investors.
