On August 18, 2026, the company's SVP - Chief Operating Officer, Mooney Kyle Owen, executed an insider sale, divesting 489 shares of common stock. The shares were sold at a price of $33.16 each, leaving the executive with 13,610 shares in the company, indicating continued confidence despite the transaction.

Despite the recent insider sale, Midland States Bancorp has garnered a "buy" rating from analysts. As highlighted by Seeking Alpha, this positive outlook is primarily attributed to the bank's improving asset quality and lower credit provisions, which are funds strategically set aside for potential loan losses. These favorable financial indicators are widely expected to contribute to increased earnings in the future for the financial institution.

The company offers an attractive 4% dividend yield, representing the annual dividend payment relative to the stock's price. Notably, Midland States Bancorp has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to its investors by increasing this dividend for 26 straight years. Furthermore, the company actively engages in share buybacks, a strategic move that can enhance the value of remaining shares for investors.

Its net interest margin, a key indicator of bank profitability (the difference between interest earned on loans and interest paid on deposits), has reached a seven-year high of 3.98%. The bank also maintains a conservative loan-to-deposit ratio of 73%, signifying that it lends out 73 cents for every one dollar it holds in deposits, reflecting prudent risk management in its financial operations.
