GameStop (NYSE: GME) is a retailer of video games, consumer electronics, and gaming merchandise. The company is known for its brick-and-mortar stores and is currently undergoing a business transformation. GameStop stock gained significant attention from retail investors in recent years, making its financial reports closely watched events.

GameStop is scheduled to report its earnings on September 8, 2026. For the quarter, Wall Street analysts are anticipating an earnings per share (EPS) of $0.27. EPS shows how much profit the company makes for each share of its stock. Analysts also estimate revenues will be $756.85 million.

However, the company's own preliminary results from August 31 project net sales between $780 million and $800 million. This projection is a sharp decrease from the $972.20 million in sales recorded during the same period a year earlier, as highlighted by Invezz.

Beyond the earnings numbers, investors are watching key figure Ryan Cohen. A report from 24/7 Wall Street notes that his strategic use of a large "war chest" of funds could be more important for GameStop's future than its quarterly revenue figures.

The company's financial metrics show a price-to-sales ratio of 3.14, which compares its stock price to its revenues. GameStop also has a debt-to-equity ratio of 0.71, a measure of its financial leverage. Its current ratio of 8.72 suggests it can cover its short-term liabilities.
