• New Fortress Energy (NASDAQ: NFE) executed a 50-for-1 reverse stock split on September 14, 2026.

New Fortress Energy (NASDAQ: NFE) is a global energy infrastructure company. It builds and operates facilities that provide energy, primarily focusing on liquefied natural gas (LNG). The company's goal is to offer cleaner and more affordable energy solutions to various markets worldwide, helping them transition away from oil-based fuels.

On September 14, 2026, New Fortress Energy executed a 50-for-1 reverse stock split. A reverse stock split reduces the total number of a company's outstanding shares. This action increases the price per share proportionally but does not change the company's overall market value or an investor's total stake value.

The primary reason for this move is to meet exchange listing rules. As highlighted by Business Wire, New Fortress Energy's board approved the split to regain compliance with the Nasdaq's minimum bid price requirement. This rule ensures stocks maintain a certain price level to continue trading on the exchange.

This decision comes amid significant price movement for the stock. New Fortress Energy is currently trading at $13.79, a decrease of $2.69 or 16.32% for the day. The stock's price has been volatile, with a 52-week range between a high of $154.00 and a low of $11.25.

The company holds a market capitalization of about $3.94 billion. Market capitalization is the total value of all a company's shares of stock. The day's trading volume is 210,262 shares, with split-adjusted trading anticipated to begin soon on the Nasdaq.
