Seaport Global Initiates Coverage on Domino's (NASDAQ: DPZ) with Neutral Rating

• Seaport Global assigned a Neutral rating to Domino's, acknowledging its market leadership, strong digital platform (over 85% U.S. digital sales), and consistent dividend growth.
• The rating reflects concerns over recent operational issues, including store closures due to franchisee financial struggles, highlighting risks within its franchise-heavy business model.
• Financial structure concerns, such as nearly $5 billion in debt and a stockholders' deficit, contribute to a cautious outlook for the company.

On September 15, 2026, analyst firm Seaport Global initiated coverage on Domino's (NASDAQ: DPZ), assigning it a Neutral grade at a stock price of $310.82. Domino's is the world's largest pizza company, with a massive network of over 22,500 stores across more than 90 global markets. Its global retail sales exceeded $20.6 billion for the trailing four quarters ending June 14, 2026.

The Neutral rating considers the company's significant strengths, including its powerful digital platform. In 2025, over 85% of Domino's U.S. retail sales came through digital channels. The company also maintains a long-standing practice of increasing its dividend annually for over a decade, which provides a consistent return to its investors.

However, the rating also reflects recent operational issues. Several Domino's stores have abruptly closed due to a major franchisee's financial struggles, as highlighted by Fast Company. This development suggests potential risks within the company's franchise-heavy business model, where the financial health of independent operators is crucial for overall stability.

Adding to the cautious outlook are concerns about the company's financial structure. A report from 24/7 Wall Street details that Domino's holds nearly $5 billion in debt and has a stockholders' deficit. A stockholders' deficit occurs when a company's total liabilities, or what it owes, are greater than its total assets, or what it owns.

This mixed financial picture is reflected in the stock's performance. On the day of the rating, Domino's shares experienced a decrease of 3.41%. The stock is trading significantly below its 52-week high of $446.49, indicating that investors are carefully weighing the company's market leadership against its current financial and operational challenges.
