Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ: SPCX), commonly known as SpaceX, is a leading aerospace manufacturer and space transportation company led by Elon Musk. The company designs, builds, and launches rockets, spacecraft, and satellite systems, with major businesses including Falcon launches, Starship development, and the Starlink satellite internet constellation.

Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ: SPCX) became publicly traded on Nasdaq in June 2026 after pricing its IPO at $135 per share. Nasdaq reported that SpaceX opened trading at $150 per share, giving the company an implied valuation of about $1.77 trillion at its market debut.

The company’s Starship program remains central to its long-term strategy. Starship is designed to become a fully reusable heavy-lift rocket system capable of launching satellites, supporting NASA lunar missions, and eventually enabling larger-scale commercial space infrastructure. SpaceX has been preparing Starship Flight 14 as the vehicle’s first orbital launch attempt and its first mission expected to deploy operational Starlink V3 satellites into low Earth orbit.

Starship is also important for Starlink. The planned Flight 14 mission is expected to carry 26 Starlink V3 satellites, which are designed to expand network capacity and improve global internet service. If successful, this would mark a major step toward using Starship for large-scale Starlink deployment rather than relying mainly on Falcon 9 launches.

Investor interest in Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ: SPCX) is also tied to longer-term ambitions, including lower launch costs, higher launch frequency, future NASA missions, and possible space-based infrastructure projects. However, some of these goals, such as very frequent Starship flights or orbital data-center concepts, remain long-term and speculative rather than near-term operating results.

Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ: SPCX) recently traded around $148 per share. Based on the company’s post-IPO valuation and current trading level, its market capitalization is close to $1.95 trillion. Since going public, the stock has shown significant volatility, reflecting both excitement around SpaceX’s growth potential and uncertainty around valuation, execution risk, and Starship development timelines.
