Goldman Sachs initiated coverage of LVMH (OTCMKTS: LVMUY) with a Buy rating when the stock traded at $85.21. LVMH owns a diverse portfolio of luxury brands across fashion, jewelry, watches, and wines and spirits. Its shares trade over the counter in the U.S., offering investors access to a leading global luxury conglomerate.

This positive rating comes as investors increasingly question the long-term outlook for luxury stocks. As highlighted by The Wall Street Journal, investment trends that significantly benefited companies such as LVMH over the past two decades are showing signs of fading. The article suggests that luxury shares now trade at valuations closer to fast-fashion stocks, though the provided excerpt gives no specific valuation figures to support this comparison.

Other analysts, however, take a more cautious view on the luxury market. Zacks Research raised LVMH from “strong sell” to “hold” in June, while HSBC and Royal Bank of Canada each lowered their ratings to “hold” in September. Of nine analysts cited, three rate the stock “strong buy,” two “buy,” and four “hold,” indicating a divided opinion on the company's immediate investment prospects.

LVMH currently trades at $85.21, up $0.06, or 0.07%. Its daily trading range is $84.73 to $86.04, while its range over the past year has been $84.62 to $152.95.
