Skyworks Solutions (NASDAQ: SWKS), a leading semiconductor company, manufactures chips essential for wireless devices and other connected products. On October 6, 2026, B. Riley upgraded Skyworks Solutions from Neutral to Buy, when the stock traded at $83.91. This positive analyst upgrade follows Skyworks’ strategic combination with Qorvo (NASDAQ: QRVO), another prominent semiconductor company.

The strategic acquisition officially closed on October 5, as reported by Defense World. This merger significantly expands Skyworks’ product portfolio, enhancing its range of radio-frequency, power-management, analog, and mixed-signal products. The company anticipates achieving at least $500 million in annual cost synergies from integrating operations and eliminating overlapping expenses, boosting operational efficiency.

Under the merger agreement, Qorvo shareholders received $32.50 in cash and 0.96 Skyworks shares for each Qorvo share. Following the transaction, former Skyworks shareholders own approximately 63% of the combined entity, while former Qorvo shareholders hold approximately 37%. Skyworks financed the cash component of the deal using proceeds from $2 billion in senior notes, a form of corporate debt.

Skyworks Solutions continues to trade under its existing symbol, with Phil Brace serving as chief executive officer and president. A Seeking Alpha analyst also maintains a Buy rating on the stock, highlighting the combined entity’s broader customer base and significant potential savings from the merger. This positive analyst sentiment depends on Skyworks successfully delivering the anticipated benefits of the strategic deal and achieving the projected synergies.
