Alliance Global Sets $217 Price Target for Strategy Inc. (NASDAQ: MSTR)
- Strategy Inc.’s stock performance remains closely connected to Bitcoin because of the company’s substantial cryptocurrency holdings and Bitcoin-focused capital strategy.
- Alliance Global Partners initiated coverage with a Buy rating and a $217 price target, implying approximately 73.77% upside from Strategy’s September 1 closing price.
- Strategy resumed buying Bitcoin after a 10-week pause, purchasing 4,603 BTC for approximately $369.7 million after selling 6,916 BTC for about $429.4 million during four earlier transactions.
Strategy Inc. (NASDAQ: MSTR), formerly known as MicroStrategy, operates as a Bitcoin treasury company while continuing to provide enterprise analytics software and cloud-based services. Its large Bitcoin holdings make the stock highly sensitive to movements in the cryptocurrency’s price.
On September 1, 2026, Alliance Global Partners analyst Brian Kinstlinger initiated coverage of Strategy with a Buy rating and a $217 price target. Based on the stock’s September 1 closing price of $124.88, the target implies potential upside of approximately 73.77%. The analyst cited Strategy’s substantial Bitcoin holdings and expectations for stronger cryptocurrency demand over the next six to 18 months as parts of the bullish case.
The analyst action followed Strategy’s return to Bitcoin purchases after a 10-week pause. Between August 24 and August 30, the company acquired 4,603 BTC for approximately $369.7 million, paying an average of $80,318 per Bitcoin. The purchase, funded through common-stock sales, increased Strategy’s holdings to 845,050 BTC, acquired for a total of approximately $63.73 billion.
Before the latest purchase, Strategy had completed four consecutive Bitcoin sales between June 30 and August 10. Those transactions involved 6,916 BTC and generated approximately $429.4 million, with sale prices generally ranging from about $59,000 to $64,000 per Bitcoin. The proceeds were used for purposes including preferred-stock repurchases, dividend obligations, and liquidity management. CEO Phong Le defended the transactions, saying Strategy based its decisions on its cost of capital and balance-sheet needs rather than Bitcoin’s price alone.
Strategy shares closed September 1 at $124.88, declining 6.06% for the session. The stock’s 52-week range of $81.81 to $365.21 illustrates the considerable volatility associated with its Bitcoin-focused treasury and capital-management strategy.
